Not too long ago, I jumped on the hipster bandwagon and decided to start a victory garden.
First, I dug a hole.
Then, I realized the hole had a ton of rocks in it.
Then, I decided to avoid the rocks, so I built a box and filled it with dirt.
At this point I realized that farming is really hard.
But I pressed on and put my tiny little plants in the ground and …
BAM! A victorious victory garden.
I think my newfound farming skills …

My very first foil!
It’s not the sort of thing Hallmark makes cards for, but I still feel like I’ve passed some sort of milestone. I’m still taking classes, but I’ve also started going to open fencing. It was really intimidating at first, but I got over it
I need to get a bag to carry my stuff in though, walking around with a sword in downtown Detroit attracts a bit more attention than I was expecting. It makes getting …

1) I just might finish my character outlines.
2) There’s a storytelling show in Detroit tonight.
3) Tomorrow is a half-day!!
4) The sun has finally come back out.
5) And…There’s a present, from one of my favorite people, sitting on my porch
That’s a fairly decent list for 1:30.

They demand that I buy a case of Salt Lick BBQ. One of Austin’s many treasures. How could I deny to such a delicious request?
I swear, if Austin weren’t in Texas I’d be there in a minute.

I can see why everyone obsesses over this city. It’s like LA’s straight forward moody twin.
I love it.
I had a lot of fun.
Friends, shopping, booze, great food and dancing makes for an excellent weekend. Although, staying up until 5 AM everyday isn’t a pace I could maintain for very long.
Here are some visual aids documenting my adventure:
I attempted to conquer this area of NY with my credit card. Based on my account balance I’m pretty sure I lost. But I …

I didn’t have to de-ice my car, wear two coats, put on boots, or do anything that has to do with winter in Detroit.
Going on production in LA for work is… a lot of work. But the 12 + hour days are sort of worth it when you go from 6° to wearing flip-flops in the sun.
I’m enjoyed the s&*$ out that 75 and sunny business.
But now that I’m back, winter seems so much harder.
Ah well, at least the sun …

Whomp Whomp.
It snowed about three inches. Which is a pretty typical snowfall for Michigan. But I’m not complaining. I still got a snow day out of it, and even though I’m working from home, what I have to do will only take a few hours and then the rest of the day is mine!
I love snow days, especially when it doesn’t really snow. All the fun, minus the inconvenience.
Despite the lack the “world ending snowfall,” yesterday was pretty epic all …

The apartment I was supposed to rent fell through. After telling me they wanted to leave, they decided to not move out. I was two hours away from signing the lease. I almost lived here:
And l totally stopped looking last week because hey, I thought I had a place. Tip #1 For The Semi – Homeless: Never stop looking for a place until you’ve literally moved in.
Good news, someone’s introduced me to the world of subleasing. There’s supposed to be …

Even though I’ve spent the last three days searching for a car, the fact that I was getting one didn’t actually register until after it was all done.
And I didn’t do this all by myself. I hate to admit it, but I had no clue what I was doing. If it weren’t for the guys at work I would have ended up with a flashy turd.
All I could think was, Car? Check. Item secured. Move on to next task. But then …

Just kidding!
That’s me and my roommate being big dorks in the corn maze. If you’ve never taken a “band” photo you should. They’re always pretty hysterical.
Halloween was actually a perfect Seattle day. I’m not quite sure how the weather, or the company could have been better.
Seriously, look at that business! The universe was definitely feeling artistic. You can’t dream up clouds like that.
Or this beached boat.
Or a this moment.

I spent most of yesterday traveling, and the rest of it playing with my two nieces. One of which screamed, “MY TASHA” when she saw me.
She makes me feel awesome.
But I’m jumping ahead. Yesterday I got up at 4 AM, a time that shouldn’t really exist, but it does and I was awake.
After stripping off my shoes and electronic gear at the airport I still end up tripping some alarm and was treated to a luggage search. After going through …

- What did you do this weekend?
- Well, I’ve been wearing high heels and drinking since Thursday.
That pretty much sums up the last four days. And even though we all slept for about 15 hours on Sunday, I’m still tired. So tired, that the fact I’m awake right now might qualify as cruel and unusual punishment.
But all the partying was worth it.
Went to my first bachelorette party/wedding this weekend and it was FUN.
Fun, and the exact opposite of an episode …

I’m very excited about tomorrow and Friday. Thanks to Lauren, I have some new music to see.
First up on Wednesday: Perfume Genius @ The Crocodile
Followed on Friday by: The Local Natives @ The Showbox
A bit of sad music, followed by dance music. Which is pretty much how I’ve been feeling lately. I have a lot of opposite emotions trying to occupy the same space at the same time. And since I can’t control when one shows up and the other …

I got off work last night after 10, and when I got home there was a package from Amazon on my bed.
Now, people with better memories than me might not experience this; but when I picked up the package I realized I had absolutely no idea what was inside. I think this moment is what I like most about Amazon. I knew I brought myself something, and because I brought it I knew it was going to be awesome, but …

I’m glad my friend made me go to PAX. Lots of awesome games to look forward to. Some of the games were so cool they made me think about getting a PS3 and a 360, but I resisted. I played so much my forearms started hurting.
There were a lot of costumes and other cool stuff. Disney had a cool set up, which surprised me. And someone invited me to a local girl con. There’s not much information up about it …

My passes have arrived
Even though I don’t feel like much of a gamer, I’m starting to get excited about this. The capitalist in me is starting to wish I had brought two three-day passes. They’re going for about $160 on craigslist. That would have paid for my ticket and given me extra spending money. Ah well, maybe next time.

Today, I’ll be at a company party schmoozing over sangria, in Seattle’s wannabe sunlight.

It’s bright and sunny in Seattle again. I’m doing my best to avoid taking a nap.
I think I’m failing.
