I’ve probably said it before, but I’m really glad I started this writing group. The meetings are still going well, members are becoming more invested with each round, and everyone is writing more.
We’re also gearing up for some major events. Our first writing retreat will probably be in November. Three days of intense writing in a TBD location. Also, a campy B-film has put out a call for scripts and we’ve decided to take that on as a group writing …

I can’t complain. Things are going well.
I changed the format of the writing assignments around. So now, every other one is a submission of some sort, to a publication (of some sort). This week we’re sending stuff into Realms of Fantasy. To start with, all of us are going to submit so the same magazine, so we can see the different types of feedback we get. Should be interesting, I’ll let you know what happens with that.

Three meetings in and we’re still going strong. Two new members showed up last night and I have a third in the works. I <3 Writing Bros, it’s like having my own geek squad.
Each meeting I’m more and more satisfied with how things are moving forward. I’ve added and events page, set a long term goal of going to an author’s convention, and every other writing assignment will now be focused on submissions to a publication of some sort.

I’ve stopped having bad dreams about my writing group. Which is good, but when I showed up to the library yesterday and I couldn’t see them I almost had a panic attack. It went something like this:
They-all-hate-me-and-have-no-intention-of-showing-up. *Gasp!* Followed by *more gasping!*
Luckily, they were just in the back room.
I’ve nabbed a few more members, and I’m liking the youngish demographic I’m attracting.
I’ve also convinced everyone that the only assignment worth doing this week is the Pegasus Kitty Unicorn painting …

Before the meeting I kept having dreams that everyone who attended was so bored, blood started leaking from their ears. Then I’d spend the next hour looking for cotton to give them.
Thankfully, there was no blood, and no need for cotton.
It went well!
(Minus the crazy man in the library who kept screaming that there’s no talking in the library. Which isn’t true at all).
