I’ve recently finished my first book (Go Me!). Currently doing my last edit, and then I begin the daunting task of selling it.


My first plan of attack: “People I Know”


One of my best friends has a cousin who’s not only a published writer, but is also hip deep into the publishing industry. I hear that normally this isn’t something you’re supposed to do (hitting up another writer for writing contacts), but she’s agreed to help and I’m not ashamed to take it.


And someone else I know owns Pilot Books here in Seattle. They promote small press books only, but apparently she knows a lot of copyeditors and there’s supposed to be a really great writing community surrounding the store. I’m going to head up there the weekend after next.


I’m excited, and scared.
